I thought I&#8217;d see how well it works before investing in something like <a href=\"http:\/\/zerenesystems.com\/cms\/stacker\" target=\"_blank\">Zerene Stacker<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heliconsoft.com\/heliconsoft-products\/helicon-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\">Helicon Focus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The picture above was assembled from 24 frames at f\/5.6, with the camera mounted on a focusing rail. I could have added some more frames to get further depth, but this was enough to show that the process works.<\/p>\n<p>So Photoshop works pretty well when the subject is uncomplicated. How well does it fare with something more intricate, such as <em>Bidens bipinnata<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/082415Bidens.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/082415Bidens-640x634.jpg\" alt=\"Bidens bipinnata\" width=\"640\" height=\"634\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14180\" srcset=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/082415Bidens-640x634.jpg 640w, http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/082415Bidens-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/082415Bidens-1024x1014.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Click to see the barbs on the needles.) Not so well. Photoshop has problems with depth perception, it seems.
