The quality varies tremendously, but the best are very good indeed.<\/p>\n<p>One composer whom I particularly enjoy is <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/204621\" target=\"_blank\">Tuukka Jokilehto<\/a>, a.k.a. &#8220;Rivergrove.&#8221; Among other things, he writes many short, colorful pieces for beginning pianists, such as his collection of <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/204621\/sets\/1406531\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;skeleton&#8221;<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/204621\/sets\/1482261\" target=\"_blank\">music<\/a>. I recently ran his composition &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/204621\/scores\/1690356\" target=\"_blank\">Old Music Box<\/a>&#8221; through Logic, using sounds <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sampleism.com\/danielbelik\/music-box-free\" target=\"_blank\">sampled<\/a> from an old music box.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc_fancy_player_container\"><audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-16037-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/audio\/Old%20Music%20Box.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/audio\/Old%20Music%20Box.mp3\">http:\/\/shuffly.net\/audio\/Old%20Music%20Box.mp3<\/a><\/audio><\/div>\n<p>Most of <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/20360\" target=\"_blank\">Hans Jacobi<\/a>&#8216;s piano pieces, while not of Lisztian difficulty, are nevertheless not for beginners, and I&#8217;m content to let the MIDI player perform them. He writes numerous modernist short pieces that embody his understanding of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/groups\/wabi-sabi-composers-group\" target=\"_blank\">wabi-sabi<\/a>.&#8221; He has a subtle sense of humor that occasionally surfaces, such as when he imagines <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/20360\/scores\/1675386\" target=\"_blank\">how Wagner would play the blues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, there&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/14052\" target=\"_blank\">Cj Brandt<\/a>, who composes piano rags. He&#8217;s from Wichita, and has even written a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/musescore.com\/user\/14052\/scores\/1298141\" target=\"_blank\">Wichita Rag<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to occasionally posting music at MuseScore, I also listen to pieces uploaded by other MuseScorians.
