So, here&#8217;s &#8220;The Walrus and the Carpenter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The sun was shining on the sea,<br \/>\nShining with all his might:<br \/>\nHe did his very best to make<br \/>\nThe billows smooth and bright \u2014<br \/>\nAnd this was odd, because it was<br \/>\nThe middle of the night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The moon was shining sulkily,<br \/>\nBecause she thought the sun<br \/>\nHad got no business to be there<br \/>\nAfter the day was done \u2014<br \/>\n&#8216;It&#8217;s very rude of him,&#8217; she said,<br \/>\n&#8216;To come and spoil the fun.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The sea was wet as wet could be,<br \/>\nThe sands were dry as dry.<br \/>\nYou could not see a cloud, because<br \/>\nNo cloud was in the sky:<br \/>\nNo birds were flying overhead \u2014<br \/>\nThere were no birds to fly.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Walrus and the Carpenter<br \/>\nWere walking close at hand;<br \/>\nThey wept like anything to see<br \/>\nSuch quantities of sand:<br \/>\n&#8216;If this were only cleared away,&#8217;<br \/>\nThey said, it would be grand!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;If seven maids with seven mops<br \/>\nSwept it for half a year,<br \/>\nDo you suppose,&#8217; the Walrus said,<br \/>\nThat they could get it clear?&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8216;I doubt it,&#8217; said the Carpenter,<br \/>\nAnd shed a bitter tear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;O Oysters, come and walk with us!&#8217;<br \/>\nThe Walrus did beseech.<br \/>\n&#8216;A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,<br \/>\nAlong the briny beach:<br \/>\nWe cannot do with more than four,<br \/>\nTo give a hand to each.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The eldest Oyster looked at him,<br \/>\nBut never a word he said:<br \/>\nThe eldest Oyster winked his eye,<br \/>\nAnd shook his heavy head \u2014<br \/>\nMeaning to say he did not choose<br \/>\nTo leave the oyster-bed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But four young Oysters hurried up,<br \/>\nAll eager for the treat:<br \/>\nTheir coats were brushed, their faces washed,<br \/>\nTheir shoes were clean and neat \u2014<br \/>\nAnd this was odd, because, you know,<br \/>\nThey hadn&#8217;t any feet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Four other Oysters followed them,<br \/>\nAnd yet another four;<br \/>\nAnd thick and fast they came at last,<br \/>\nAnd more, and more, and more \u2014<br \/>\nAll hopping through the frothy waves,<br \/>\nAnd scrambling to the shore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Walrus and the Carpenter<br \/>\nWalked on a mile or so,<br \/>\nAnd then they rested on a rock<br \/>\nConveniently low:<br \/>\nAnd all the little Oysters stood<br \/>\nAnd waited in a row.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;The time has come,&#8217; the Walrus said,<br \/>\n&#8216;To talk of many things:<br \/>\nOf shoes \u2014 and ships \u2014 and sealing-wax \u2014<br \/>\nOf cabbages \u2014 and kings \u2014<br \/>\nAnd why the sea is boiling hot \u2014<br \/>\nAnd whether pigs have wings.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;But wait a bit,&#8217; the Oysters cried,<br \/>\n&#8216;Before we have our chat;<br \/>\nFor some of us are out of breath,<br \/>\nAnd all of us are fat!&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8216;No hurry!&#8217; said the Carpenter.<br \/>\nThey thanked him much for that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;A loaf of bread,&#8217; the Walrus said,<br \/>\nIs what we chiefly need:<br \/>\nPepper and vinegar besides<br \/>\nAre very good indeed \u2014<br \/>\nNow if you&#8217;re ready, Oysters dear,<br \/>\nWe can begin to feed.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;But not on us!&#8217; the Oysters cried,<br \/>\nTurning a little blue.<br \/>\n&#8216;After such kindness, that would be<br \/>\nA dismal thing to do!&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8216;The night is fine,&#8217; the Walrus said.<br \/>\nDo you admire the view?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It was so kind of you to come!<br \/>\nAnd you are very nice!&#8217;<br \/>\nThe Carpenter said nothing but<br \/>\n&#8216;Cut us another slice:<br \/>\nI wish you were not quite so deaf \u2014<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve had to ask you twice!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;It seems a shame,&#8217; the Walrus said,<br \/>\nTo play them such a trick,<br \/>\nAfter we&#8217;ve brought them out so far,<br \/>\nAnd made them trot so quick!&#8217;<br \/>\nThe Carpenter said nothing but<br \/>\n&#8216;The butter&#8217;s spread too thick!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;I weep for you,&#8217; the Walrus said:<br \/>\n&#8216;I deeply sympathize.&#8217;<br \/>\nWith sobs and tears he sorted out<br \/>\nThose of the largest size,<br \/>\nHolding his pocket-handkerchief<br \/>\nBefore his streaming eyes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8216;O Oysters,&#8217;
