Several are $9; check the price before you buy.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> The festivities have apparently been going on for seventeen years, since DG was established in 1898, but I didn&#8217;t discover this until today. Deutsche Grammophon releases generally are good performances recorded well, and at Bandcamp you can listen to the tracks you are interested in before buying.<span id='easy-footnote-2-190456' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/cheap-thrills\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-190456' title='unlike amazon.com, who have deliberately made finding music as painful as possible.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Of particular note in this pumpkin-ridden season is <a href=\"https:\/\/111yearsofdeutschegrammophon.bandcamp.com\/album\/prokofiev-piano-concerto-no-3-ravel-concerto-in-g-gaspard-de-la-nuit\" target=\"_blank\">Martha Argerich&#8217;s DG debut<\/a>, which includes her first recording of the finest Halloween music ever composed, Ravel&#8217;s &#8220;Gaspard de la nuit.&#8221; There are a lot of outstanding recordings of &#8220;Gaspard,&#8221; from Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and Abbey Simon to Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Steven Osborne, and Argerich&#8217;s interpretations rank with the best.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 42px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=1905704035\/size=small\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/track=3871285598\/transparent=true\/\" seamless><a href=\"https:\/\/111yearsofdeutschegrammophon.bandcamp.com\/album\/prokofiev-piano-concerto-no-3-ravel-concerto-in-g-gaspard-de-la-nuit\">Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No.3 &#8211; Ravel: Concerto in G, Gaspard de la nuit by Martha Argerich<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deutsche Grammophon is celebrating its eleventy-first year since its founding by offering digital downloads of a number of albums for $1 each at Bandcamp.
