The entire cluster of burgundy flowers was roughly a quarter-inch in diameter. It was difficult to photograph \u2014 I really needed a macro lens (ideally with another lens stacked in front, and with the camera connected to the computer for focus stacking) and a tripod \u2014 but after several tries I managed to get a passable picture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata-640x459.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"459\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-67484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata-640x459.jpg 640w, https:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata-768x551.jpg 768w, https:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata-1024x735.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Stelis-viridipupurata-1200x861.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <i>Platystele<\/i> was dwarfed by <i>Stelis viridipurpurata<\/i>, which was nevertheless quite small itself.
