While the naked ladies (<em>Lycoris squamigera<\/em>) are past their prime, the closely-related <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lycoris_radiata\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Lycoris radiata<\/a><\/em> is just getting started. <em>L. radiata<\/em> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.japanvisitor.com\/japanese-culture\/seasons\/higanbana\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">all kinds of significance<\/a> in Japanese culture (if you see it in an <a href=\"http:\/\/shuffly.net\/zoop\/beyond-healing\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">anime<\/a>, you&#8217;re probably in a graveyard), which I&#8217;m too lazy to summarize.<\/p>\n<p>There are more pictures from the expedition <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tancos\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The botanical garden requires masks only when you are inside the buildings, not when you are in the gardens themselves, so I was able to grab a few pictures there without suffocating this week.
