Greg Golding, baritone horn. Photographing the chamber music concert this afternoon with my toy camera was frustrating. Pictures with the flash were harsh and unflattering, but without the flash the images were blurred and noisy. (I hope by the end of summer to have a proper DLSR and a fast lens.)

One of two buildings in Wichita designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I lived about two minutes’ walk from here many years ago. I never met the people who lived there then, and I didn’t really want to. They had a pair of toy poodles, sometimes dyed orange, sometimes blue.

I’d applaud their industry except that it is Sunday morning and this is the house where I live. (It would have been nice of the landlord to mention ahead of time that the roofers were coming. Grrr.)

My parish church, a.k.a. the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. It faces north, so the façade is illuminated by direct sunlight only early in the morning or late in the evening when the days are long.
