- I have a personal grudge against ABBA. Years ago, my music notation software was Igor Engraver, which was capable and easy to use and, initially, free. However, it was never ported to Mac OS 10. An updated version was announced over ten years ago, but it never materialized. Nowadays I write directly in Logic and use MuseScore if other people will need to see the printed music, but it would have been nice to keep working in Igor. I can’t open any of my old Igor files. It’s no great loss — little I wrote was much good — but sometimes I would like to see what I did back then.
Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA purchased the company that developed Igor 15 or 20 years ago and is still one of the owners. I blame him for failing to keep Igor current.
