I’d definitely nominate Someday’s Dreamers. The only reason I don’t listen to it constantly is that my teenager commandeered the CD.
He also appropriated my CD of music from Mushishi, which I found to be beautiful for background ambiance but maybe not so much as a soundtrack in its own right.
I think Idolm@ster Xenoglossia may belong into this all-star list, with tracks like The Medley giving serious competition to haneone’s content. Of course I’m more of a fan for Koi da Mon, Live for Love, etc. It’s good stuff.
I would go for Mushishi, because it fits the anime so well.
Akira is an amazing piece of OST, the first I ever bought, right after I saw the movie on biiiig screen in a movie theater way back in ’89.
