Here’s a curiosity I came across, the “Know Nothing Polka,” ((There’s at least one other “Know Nothing Polka,” archived online, as well as a “Know Nothing Waltz.”)) composed by “Nobody” and dedicated to “Everybody.” I dedicate this arrangement to Jamie Stiehm.

Interesting. Does this have anything to do with the 19th century “Know Nothing Party”? (An anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic organization, officially called the “American Party,” it was so secretive that members were instructed to say “I know nothing” when asked about it.)
I’m sure it does. The other “Know Nothing Polka” I found was dedicated to the Know Nothing governor of Massachusetts, Henry J. Gardner.
