Apparently, the deal with Terayama’s group name is that it was named “Tenjo Sajiki”, Children of Heaven. (Heaven as in the top balcony seats that theatre once called “the gods” or “Paradise”, because they were very close to all the cool baroque ceiling paintings of gods and angels in heaven.) The title, quoth Wikipedia, is also the Japanese title of the movie Les Enfants du Paradis.
Yeah, Google Translate is not quite there yet.
It’s an oddball, especially since it isn’t a general “sajiki = N” error; it’s that exact phrase. Maybe related to the Black Tent Theater that work is associated with?
