Thirty-one years ago

Here’s another magazine from Richard’s box, this time from 1990.

Once again, there’s no escaping Gundam.

Or Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water.

Miyazaki is lurking around, too. He directed the first six episodes of Sherlock Hound and provided the concept for Nadia.

Something you might not expect in an anime magazine: F1 racing.

And there’s no escape from the Mouse.

Or the Laughing Salesman, disguised here as one of his creators.

A singer I’ve never heard of.

Models.

And more models, with a different emphasis.

An assortment of mecha of varying degrees of absurdity.

A laser disc for Iniksbane.

I tried watching an episode of an Iczer OVA once but couldn’t get through it. Ick.

I tried to find information about Making of the Baby Sitter 3159 but couldn’t find any in English. Apparently the guy responsible for The Five Star Stories was also to blame for this.

Flutes (Utsonomiko),

long skirts (Karura Mau!),

and fruit.

Anime fans are as silly as anyone else. (For the morbidly curious, my sign is “No parking. Violators will be towed at owner expense.”)

Some fan art to finish with.
